I’m a short king, so the 93" uprights can be a bit of a challenge—especially for weighted pull-ups. Using this as a step to reach the bar has been totally worth it. Overall, the build quality is excellent, it feels solid and looks great too. You can use it as a step or even as a small shelf for your drink or phone. The fit is slightly loose on my REP PR-5000 rack, but honestly, it’s not noticeable when you’re standing on it. For the price, the build quality is hard to beat, you’re definitely getting your money’s worth.
I spent some time searching online for something similar to the Booster Hook but couldn’t find anything close until I came across Bridge Built and their Booster Hook.
Over the weekend, I emailed them to ask about potential wiggle room since I use a metric rack (REP Fitness PR-5000 series) and their attachments are built around true 3x3 tubing. I was a little impatient and went ahead and ordered one on Sunday before hearing back.
On Monday, I decided to call the Bridge Built team to ask about fit and whether there might be any play on my rack. Within a minute someone picked up and answered my questions, giving honest feedback about what to expect. I really appreciated the straightforward help.
The Booster Hook arrived the next day and did not disappoint. The build quality exceeded my expectations. I’m a short king and mainly use it as a step to reach the pull-up bar, and it works perfectly for that. It feels solid when stepping up with very little wiggle. The welds and finish look fantastic too, this thing is seriously overbuilt in the best way possible.
The only minor suggestion I might have, and it may not even be necessary, is that over time it could potentially mark the paint on the upright if you regularly step on it and put pressure on the seat area. A thin strip of UHMW tape at the contact points could be an easy solution to help protect the rack’s finish.
I also thought it was really cool that someone on the team included a handwritten thank-you note with the order. This was my first purchase from Bridge Built, and it definitely won’t be my last. The design, build quality, and craftsmanship are excellent, and the price honestly feels like a steal for the quality you’re getting.
